EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Alejandro Barragan is an economist educated at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) specializing in investor-state dispute settlement. For the past 14 years he has worked as an in-house consultant, assisting lawyers with the assessment and analysis of complex economic and financial issues that arise in investor-state and WTO proceedings, most notably the assessment of damages.

Before joining J. Cameron Mowatt, Law Corporation in April of 2014, Alejandro worked at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (2008-2014) where he was a member of the International Trade and Investment Group, a multidisciplinary team that advised and represented the Government of Mexico in investor-state cases. Prior to joining BLG in 2008, he worked as a Research Associate at Thomas & Partners (2003-2008) and as Deputy Director of Taxation of Multinational Enterprises and Statistics for the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) for the Mexican Ministry of Finance (1998-2002). 

Alejandro is fluent in English and Spanish.
